Maureen Kellar-Kirby is a wife, mother and grandmother living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Although she is semi-retired now, her many talents are still being used in her work as an Early Childhood Education teacher, musician, songwriter, movie-script writer and astrologer. She has a special interest in the investigation of reincarnation and the paranormal and, for several years, also worked as a consulting astrologer and psychic. She continues to prepare astrology charts and counsel clients upon request.
Maureen Kellar-Kirby is the author of two books. "Go Back Jack" (2018) is a true story search in 1973 for a past life as a black, American blues musician who lived during the Great Depression, "rode the rods" and died tragically before realizing his musical dreams. "The Leprechaun Who Was Not a Mouse" (2021) is a children's picture book dedicated to the many children she has worked with and cared for since 1984 in her career as an Early Childhood Educator in Canada. This charming story about a leprechaun who was mistaken for a mouse also tells us about the enduring friendship between the leprechaun and a little boy.
The three movie scripts, "Go Back Jack", "Jimi's Last Poem" and "Idiot House" were all written after 2000. Maureen studied and taught herself scriptwriting at middle age and several since then have been placed in screenwriting contests. "Idiot House" has won three times as a Quarter Finalist, with Page International Screenwriting Awards in 2019 and 2021 and Story Pros International Screenwriting contest in 2023. "Jimi's Last Poem" won Quarter Finalist with Story Pros in 2022. In 2023 she attained a badge with Coverfly - the top 10% for her movie script project "Idiot House" which is currently set to discoverable by industry execs, managers and producers.
Her original songs of a blues type are available for listening on SoundCloud, most of which comprise the soundtrack from the book and script "Go Back Jack". In 2023 she recorded several children's songs "Puffy White Cloud" and "Fly A Plane" for use in the classroom with preschool/kindergarten children. They ar available on both SoundCloud and on YouTube as videos.
